The Panther Valley Development Real Estate And Homes For Sale In Allamuchy, NJ

I just love driving through this gated community while I'm doing business! The area is always clean, and the landscaping is manicured nicely and well taken care of. The pools are also a good time during those hot summer days!

When asked by clients, who aren't from the area, what towns they should consider in northwest NJ, my home town of Allamuchy is always on the list. One of the reasons is Panther Valley, a gated community within the town. A development of single family homes, condominiums and townhouses, Panther Valley is situated on almost 1600 acres of some of the most beautiful countryside in our area.

The original idea for this planned community was conceived by Frank H. Taylor & Sons and Travelers Insurance. The two companies purchased a portion of the Clendenin Ryan estate known as Panther Valley Ledge Farm in 1965. My father-in-law, George Jackson (now deceased) was the Construction VP for the project, so the community holds a special place in my heart.

The developers were not only civic minded but also environmentally sensitive. Some of their actions and decisions still benefit not only Panther Valley residents but the town as a whole. For instance, many improvements to the Allamuchy Township School were paid for by the developer. The developer was instrumental in the creation of the Panther Valley Ecumenical Ministry and developed the retail space in front of Panther Valley (known as the Panther Valley Mall). Within Panther Valley, 400 acres were set aside as open space; wildlife & environmental experts were hired to ensure that the ecological balance of the land was maintained. The placement of roads and homes was carefully planned and as many trees as possible were saved during the construction process. The resulting open space, wildlife, and amenities such as pools, tennis courts, and the Robert Trent Golf Course make Panther Valley a great place to call home. While many of the original ideas of the developers did not come to be, Panther Valley stands as a testament to the forwarding thinking developers who saw a need for a different type of home development and sought to create it in beautiful Allamuchy.
