Encore Club - John H. Walker Middle School

I attended the performance by the Encore Club last week at John H. Walker Middle School. The middle school here is for all 7th and 8th graders residing in Nutley. The Encore Club is a new performing arts club started last year. The performance was quite fun and entertaining, with dancing, singing and acting out scenes from Broadway plays. They even performed a scene from the movie, Pitch Perfect. I left impressed and satisfied that this is a club which my son will most likely join in September when he starts at the middle school.

What a great accomplishment for the Nutley High School Football Team! The Raiders have won the divisional title this season after winning against Caldwell last week. We are very proud of our high school team and we look forward to another great season next year. As to the graduating Seniors, thanks for your determination and playing great football.

Nutley High School takes great pride in their football team. The coaches are magnificent and the games are always packed with locals, families and we have great support from the Town of Nutley. If you're considering moving into Nutley and have children who enjoy the sport, be advised the football program at the high school is remarkable. My son played and is a Senior now and we have had a wonderful experience with the program throughout the years.

History Fair

The 2014 History Fair, hosted by the Nutley Academic Booster Club will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the Nutley High School gymnasium. The History Fair will be a day of historical fun for participants and visitors. View student-created projects, which will be exhibited and judged on a grade by grade basis, For more information visit www.nutleyabc.org. This is a fun and educational event for all.

Nutley's St. Patrick's Day Parade - Saturday, March 1

Nutley's St. Patrick's Day Parade has been a long standing tradition. With events going on for weeks leading up to the Parade, Parade day begins with a Mass at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. and then the Parade officially begins at 1:00 p.m. along Franklin Ave. There is always a great turn out and for the day everyone is Irish. Many of the kids and parents will be dressed in green and the local restaurants will be serving corned beef and cabbage and green beer. The evening ends with a celebration at the Knights of Columbus on Chestnut Street. This is really a fun day and attracts not only Nutley residents but visitors from nearby towns. Come check out the festivities and you are sure to have a great day!
