Middletown Area Insight

  • Middletown is just that - right in the middle of everything. On a bad day you're 20 minutes from the beach and even less time to the parkway depending on which exit you need to get to (117, 114, 109). The train is about 10 minutes away as is the ferry for your commuting needs. Even better, we're an hour from New York City as well as Atlantic City.

I lived in Middletown for over two decades, and loved living in the town. You can be at the beach in 15-20 minutes, Garden State Parkway Exit 109 or 114 is 2-15 minutes, and New York or Atlantic City in hour. Middletown has many distinct sections: Belford, Chapel Hill, Fairview, Harmony, Leonardo, Lincroft, North Middletown, Navesink, New Monmouth, Oak Hill, Port Monmouth, River Plaza and The Village section. It depends on your price range and commuting needs to decide which sections are going to be best.

Tatum Park is named after the Tatum family from New York City, who purchased the land in 1905 as a summer retreat. Seventy three acres were donated by the Tatum family in 1973 to the county. The park offers a beautiful playground, miles of trails and two activity centers for the residents enjoyment. The park is open year around 8:00 a.m. to dusk, free of charge. Park rangers are on site for assistance; you can also visit www.monmouthcountyparks.com.
  • There is so much to love about Middletown! While Middletown is a very large town (16th largest in NJ with over 70,000+/- residents), it has many sub sections that feel like small communities. The township became Middletown in 1609 and since then has had a rich history in Monmouth County. Come visit today!
